Arrive in Beijing

Imperial Architectures

While fixing your eyes on this huge Tiananmen Square, symbol of historical changes in China, immerse yourself in the Chinese patriotic atmosphere. Take a symbolic picture in the center of the square before walking along its underpass, which leads to the Forbidden City. Then, pass the Tiananmen Gate and begin the tour of Forbidden City. Stroll between the walls steeped in history and this huge imperial palace touched by the footsteps of emperors from past Chinese dynasties. Pass by the Palace interiors and courtyards to see historical treasures and mysteries will be revealed. After that, relax in the Palace museum.

In the afternoon, visit the architectural treasures of the largest imperial garden in China, the Summer Palace. Built based on models of the most beautiful gardens of Suzhou and the shores of West Lake in Hangzhou, this huge garden is full of history. There is even a chance for a short cruise on the calm Kunming Lake.
After visiting the Summer Palace, the Pearl Factory is the next destination. This factory is where the secrets of ancient culture of freshwater pearls will be revealed, which traces back to how these beads began being processed 2,200 BC.

Great Wall Visit

Today, visit the symbol of China - Great Wall at Badaling. Closest to Beijing, this section has been specially designed to give the sense of security and comfort in an unique setting. To avoid being tired out and create more enjoyment at this site, you can take cable car all the way down as your return to the starting location. After the Great Wall tour, stop at the cloisonne factory where this ancient art will be revealed. You will explore artisans welding on a piece of copper inlaid with colored enamels.
During your visit to the Ming Tombs, the tomb Changling is the most surprising site among others. The Sacred Way will lead you to this sacred site where Ming emperors chose to rest for eternity.
Tonight, enjoy one of the most delicate Chinese cuisine dishes: the Beijing Roast Duck. You will enjoy this ancient dish in one of the best restaurants in Beijing.

Overnight Soft Sleeper Train

In the morning, experience a tour back to a time of ancient worship by visiting the Temple of Heaven. A shrine of Heaven and symbol of Beijing, the Temple is believed to be as important as the Forbidden City, or even more because the emperor is the son of Heaven. If there is not too crowded, a stroll through the extensive gardens and corridors of the park will immerse you in the lives of old Beijing.
Then, meet the faithful Buddhist in the Yonghe Lama Temple. This Lamasery is still active and considered the most beautiful Tibetan Buddhist temple outside of Tibet. This temple has also been the Office of Tibet which for the Dalai Lama's direct communication with the central government in Beijing. Over its five halls, immerse yourself in the sacred atmosphere and feel enchanted by the huge, wooden statue of Buddha Maitreya.
In the afternoon, explore a unique artistic wonder as you visit 798 Art District. The former electronic industry zone now becomes the palace for contemporary art. The artists mix traditional Chinese culture with revolutionary ideas, communism, and democracy... all without government interference.

After dinner, you will be driven to the train station for the overnight soft sleeper train to Xian.

The Eighth Wonder of the World

Upon arrival, you guide will pick you up at the exit and then be driven to the hotel for breakfast and then visit the City Wall. Climb up a few stone steps and then you are on the Xian City Wall. Enjoy a stroll or go biking on the city wall to admire the city view. Although it is impossible to make a complete tour of the city on the wall, the ride will be interesting.
Then, get away downtown Xian to visit the eighth wonder of the world, the Terracotta Army. From the passage of the door, prepare to marvel at the craziest project by the first emperor of China. Although the tomb of Qin Shi Huangdi is never ever open, a few rooms containing objects have been observed as having accompanied the deceased. In an annex building, know more about the story of the emperor and the construction of this magnificent tomb. The real size of the Terracotta Warriors will definitely surprise you, making you Xian tour unforgettable.
Tonight, enjoy the delicacy offered in a local restaurant, the Dumpling Dinner in Xian. These dumplings with meat or vegetables stuffing are definitely mouthwatering. By the way, dumplings are the special dish for the Chinese New Year.

Yangtze River Cruise

This morning, travel a few miles outside of city wall and discover one of the most famous Buddhist pagodas. As a symbol of Xian, you could admire the city and realize Xian at the seventh floor of the Big Wild Goose Pagoda. After lunch, you will be transferred to the airport for the flight to Chongqing. Upon arrival, the guide will pick you up at the arrival hall and then you will head for the Old Chongqing and take a walk in the old town of Ciqikou. Nicknamed small Chongqing, Ciqikou is a reflection of this provincial capital a hundred years earlier. Stroll in the neighborhood of the Hongya cave where the traditional architectures of Bayu culture is quite impressive. A visit to Chongqing won’t be completed without a cable car trip on Yangtze River. You can enjoy the impressive view of the city and its buildings on a hillside. To observe the old traditions, Chongqing is now far too developed to provide a realistic view of the situation. The best choice is to go to the small villages in the suburbs. Keeping an old layout, Hongya Cave and Ciqikou allow you to explore the tradition and history of the city.
After an early dinner, you will be taken to the pier for Yangtze River Cruise. Boarding is arranged before 7:00pm. Once installed in your cabin, you will first be informed of the equipment of the boat and safety rules. At 21:30, the ship will leave the port and you're off for four days enjoying the Downstream Yangtze River Cruise (Day 1).

Yangtze River Cruise Day 2

Wake up at 7am with music of Chinese characteristics on the boat for your second day cruise on the Yangtze River. After your breakfast, you can take a course of tai chi as your wish. At 8:30, the boat will stop at the ghost town of Fengdu. You will soon understand the meaning of the name while you're visiting the scattered temples and wandering. After a buffet on board, you will have the whole afternoon on board free. Take the opportunity to relax and admire the broadness and beauty of mountains around you or participate in activities offered on the ship. At 18:00am, attend the welcome cocktail ball organized by the captain. After your early dinner, you can attend a fashion show.

Yangtze River Cruise Day 3

Today, on the third day cruise on the Yangtze River. After breakfast, you can attend a Chinese Painting course at 9am if you wish. Then do not forget to go to the deck for the passing of the first of the Three Gorges, Qutang Gorge or Kui Gorge. It is 8 kilometers' long, you can see beautiful landscapes of the shortest bur most precipitous gorge. After lunch, you will take a smaller boat to go on cruise on Lesser Three Gorges of the Yangtze River (Day 3). On the Daning River, lesser gorge are sometime more impressive than the larger ones. Much narrower, the cliffs on each side are breathtaking. You'll be back on your cruise ship after 4pm. Once continue cruising, then you will pass the Wuxia Gorge including peak Shennu, one of the most revered goddesses of China. Tonight, a farewell dinner is planned followed by a dancing ball. If you want to stay up late, do not miss the passage of the 5-level ship lock around midnight.

Afternoon Flight to Shanghai

Yangtze River Cruis Day 4

In the morning, you will have breakfast before 7:30 am in order not to miss the last day of the downstream Yangtze cruise to the Three Gorges Dam (Day 4). Until 10:00 am, you will visit the room with the history of the Three Gorges Dam. Although you can't enter the dam site, as it is too dangerous for visitors, a model will be presented to understand the layout of the site. Then you will discover the Xiling gorges by boat, past the Three Gorges of the Yangtze River. Around noon, you'll arrive at the port of Taohuacun, near Yichang. Thus, the trip on the Yangtze River is completed with effort and joy.

While picked up at the pier, you will be driven to the airport for the flight to Shanghai. Upona arrival at Pudong International Airport, you will meet the guide at the arrival hall and then be transferred to the hotel.

This morning, take a nice walk along the Huangpu River on the Bund. Historic buildings in this street combine styles of Gothic, Romanesque and Baroque to the New York of the 1930s and the Sino-Western. As a symbol of Shanghai since the 1920s, the Bund is considered “Chic Avenue of China”. With modern skyscrapers on the other side of the river, the Bund mixes old and renewal in a sumptuous setting. Close to the Bund, do some shopping in the stores of Shanghai on West Nanjing Road. Enter the crowds of shopaholics strolling around the long pedestrian street of several kilometers.while shopping on the Nanjing Road, enjoy and admire some of the historic buildings with various styles.
Then, jump into the crowds of visitors, the Yuyuan Garden is a breathtaking, beautiful garden of Shanghai. As one might notice while strolling through the shops and restaurants, this area has been restored in a very typical style of ancient China. Cross the bridge with nine turns and finally go to the Yuyuan garden, a haven of peace in the economic capital-Shanghai.
In the afternoon, visit the famous Jade Buddha Temple in Shanghai, as it is one of the few that are still active. Visit gradually along the pavilions till reach the hall of the Jade Buddha. Upon arrival, admire a statue of a reclining jade Buddha, then climb upstairs to the magnificent statue of a seated Buddha carved from a single piece of jade and decorated with precious stones.
Then, take a stroll around the old town of Shanghai and enjoy the Tianzifang Shikumen. These traditional houses are in Shanghai as the Courtyards in Beijing. Stroll in the middle of shops, the art galleries and cafes in the small and classic alleys of the neighborhood.
Stop in the trendy Xintiandi district in the heart of old French concession. Admire the past and future of Shanghai. On one hand, you will discover the old architecture of the Shikumen and on the other hand, truly feel the hustle and bustle of the city. You even pass the site of the first National Congress of the CCP. You will stop in the Museum of the Shikumen where you will discover the lifestyles of the Shanghai before 1949.
This evening, go for Huangpu River Cruise. The cruise is indeed along the Bund and its Gothic, Baroque and romantic frontages. On the other side, admire the modern Pudong New Area and its huge skyscrapers. The cruise will makes a U-turn near the Yangpu Bridge and you are provided then the most beautiful view on this cable-stayed bridge which is one of the longest in the world.

Modern Shanghai

Mount in the second highest skyscrapers in China and one of the highest in the world - Shanghai World Financial Center. You will have a dizzying view of illuminated buildings of the Pudong Area in different observation platforms , including the famous Oriental Pearl Tower. You can even see the Huangpu River and the Bund in the distance.

Ferry to Hong Kong

Free until be transferred to the Lianhua Pier for the ferry to Hong Kong. Upon arrival at Hong Kong Pier, you will go to the hotel by yourself.

In the morning, you will visit the Hong Kong Island. From the St. John's Cathedral, take an authentic peak tram up to Victoria Peak. During the ascent, you will see a breathtaking part of Hong Kong Island. Once at the top, take the trail circling the peak. From here, you can admire the port, the islands of the archipelago, and all of the hustle and bustle of the Hong Kong business district. This incredible view will remain forever engraved in your memory. After enjoying the places, you descend by peak tram. Then, travel to the city of Aberdeen and its impressive fishing port. On site, follow the port and its extraordinary boats to arrive at the pier. On a tiny boat compared to these giants, sneak into these steel monsters and then enjoy the famous Jumbo floating restaurant. You will not believe that such a building with traditional architecture can exist. During the cruise, you can also admire the housing boats, fully equipped for a family throughout the year. Go to the south of Hong Kong Island and the beach of Repulse Bay. Start the walk at Deep Water Bay and walk along the seafront, which may appear peaceful and deserted. Magically appearing in the middle of nature, enjoy the beach of Repulse Bay by putting your feet in the water and cooling off a bit. Away, it feels like it is only an ocean out of sight. In the south of Hong Kong Island, visit the old fishing village of Stanley, which today has nothing to do with his former activity. The waterfront side of Murray House will allow you to ride with a nice view of the sea. You can stop for a coffee at one of the shops. You will arrive at the famous Stanley Market where everyone finds happiness. Then go through the local beach and soak your feet in a little water.
In the afternoon, spend some time in one of the liveliest places of worship in Hong Kong, Sik Sik Yuen Temple or Wan Tai Sin Temple. All the pilgrims come to pray to guard against disease and discover their future. Feel free to enjoy the unique landscape amidst the serenity of this space, which is dedicated to Buddhism, Taoism and Confucianism, but especially the legendary monk Wong Tai Sin. You will not regret the visit.
Morever, enjoy some free time to wander the Temple Street Night Markets of Kowloon. In the market, admire marvelous worthy museum pieces. In the early evening, head to the Night Market of Temple Street, an ideal place to shop for an array of items. Take the opportunity to enjoy a local meal. If you want, you can also go to the flowers and birds market to search small treasures.
