Arrive in Beijing

Upon arrival at the Beijing Capital International Airport, the guide will meet you at the arrival hall and then you will be transferred to the hotel for short break. After then, meet the faithful Buddhist in the Yonghe Lama Temple. This Lamasery is still active and considered the most beautiful Tibetan Buddhist temple outside of Tibet. This temple has also been the Office of Tibet which for the Dalai Lama's communication directly with the central government in Beijing. Over its five halls, you soak in the sacred atmosphere and feel enchanted by the huge, wooden statue of Buddha Maitreya.

Imperial Architectures

This morning, while fixing your eyes on this huge Tiananmen Square, symbol of historical changes in China, soak up the Chinese patriotic atmosphere. Take a symbolic picture in the center of the square before walking along its underpass, which leads to the Forbidden City. Then, pass the Tiananmen Gate and begin the tour of Forbidden City. Stroll between the walls steeped in history and this huge imperial palace touched by the footsteps of emperors from past Chinese dynasties. Pass by the Palace interiors and courtyards to see how historical treasures and mysteries will be revealed. Enjoy the Palace museum and relax in a unique atmosphere.
This afternoon, you will climb the small slope of the Jingshan Park to visit the Wanchun Pavilion. here you can enjoy memorable views of the golden roofs of the Forbidden City, the National Grand Theatre and the central axis of the capital.

Great Wall Visit

Today, explore one of the most important symbols of China: the Mutianyu Great Wall. This wonderful site offers a stunning landscape of the surrounding nature. Having access to the ramparts by cable car, you may enjoy of exclusion from the rest of the world, as this area is a slightly less touristy section of the Great Wall. To return, you can choose to walk, go tobogganing or take cable car. After the Great Wall tour, stop at the cloisonne factory where this ancient art will be revealed. You will explore artisans welding on a piece of copper inlaid with colored enamels.
During your visit to the Ming Tombs in the afternoon, enter the tomb Changling, as it is the most surprising site. The Sacred Way will lead you in this sacred site where Ming emperors chose to rest for eternity.

Local Market

This morning, you will spend a few hours hunting in the largest flea market in Beijing, the Panjiayuan Antique Market. You may even have fun engaging in the Chinese custom of bargaining as you find goods across China at the best price. Then, experience a tour back to a time of ancient worship by visiting the Temple of Heaven. A shrine of Heaven and symbol of Beijing, the Temple is believed to be as important as the Forbidden City, or even more because the emperor is the son of Heaven. If there is not too crowded, a stroll through the extensive gardens and corridors of the park will immerse you in the lives of old Beijing.
This afternoon, visit the architectural treasures of the largest imperial garden in China, the Summer Palace. Built based on models of the most beautiful gardens of Suzhou and the shores of West Lake in Hangzhou, this huge garden is full of history. There is even a chance for a short cruise on the calm Kunming Lake. After visiting the Summer Palace, explore the Pearl Factory. This factory is where then secrets of ancient culture of freshwater pearls will be reveaedl, which traces back to how these beads began being processed 2,200 BC.
Time for an evening at the Peking Opera, you will be fascinated by the legends of ancient China. After an early dinner, if you wish, enter backstage at the theater to see how the actors apply their makeup and get ready for their performance. Datong Grottoes

In the morning, you will be transferred to the airport for the flight to Datong. Upon arrival, your local guide will directly take to visit one of the most beautiful grottoes of China, the Yungang Grottoes. Known as a World Heritage Site, the 252 caves contain treasures. Marvel at the skills of the sculptors of Buddhist carving art that contained in the Five Caves. Then, go to the south of Datong to see the few remaining halls of Shanhua Temple. The temple, typical architecture of Tang is a great rarity. But it was the victim of the destruction during the end of the Five Dynasties.
After then, you will be transferred to the hotel in Datong.

Amazing Architectures

This morning, prepare to be dazzled by the escapade of the Hanging Temple. This Taoist sacred mountain is spectacular. Climbing up the trail may be tiring as you head toward the cliff to visit this temple, which is located 50 meters above the Jinlong Canyon's gorge. Some places are a little steep, so be careful.
Then, you will be driven to visit an architectural masterpiece that challenges all laws: the Wooden Pagoda in Yingxian County. This pagoda built solely from wood represents one of China's oldest buildings.
After that, you will be driven to the Mount Wutai, you will first check in the hotel at the foot of the Mount Wutai and prepare for your exploration next day.

Discover Mount Wutai

Climbing up the mountains is a bit tiring but worthy while visiting Mount Wutai and its surrounding temples. Spend the day soaking up the atmosphere of this sacred and the most important Buddhist Mountain in China. This mountain, which combines Han and Tibetan Buddhism, is listed by UNESCO. This site is not only a place of pilgrimage for Han but also Mongols and Tibetans identify with its 41 monasteries and temples. It is impossible to visit them all in one day, but, with your local guide, you will discover the most important temples. The trail between the temples is easy to walk but includes a bit of climbing sometime.

Head to Pingyao Old City

Between Mount Wutai and Pingyao, stop at the Qiao Family Compound. This house is a perfect representation of successful merchants in Pingyao in 18th century. Visit this walled house and its maze of courtyards and rooms. You may recognize the scenery of the famous film Raise the Red Lantern shot by Zhang Yimou.
In the late afternoon, you finally arrive at Pingyao and discover the lifestyle in the Ming and Qing dynasties through the walls of the Old City of Pingyao. Overnight Soft Sleeper Train to Xian, first class

Inside Pingyao

You will spend whole day discovering the Ancient City of Pingyao. This walled city takes you back in time to experience its secrets. Stroll along the city walls where you'll delight in having a view of the entire city. The most charming panorama to be seen is in the early morning or late afternoon. Also take the time to stroll through the streets between famous traditional courtyard houses. The most interesting areas are in the southeast. Stop by Rishengchang, the largest bank in China at that time. Also get in the market to join the swarm of people in the streets to bargain for some souvenirs. Upon arrival at the train station in the morning, the guide will take you to the hotel for the breakfast and short break. After then, go a few miles outside of city wall and discover one of the most famous Buddhist pagodas. As a symbol of Xian, you could admire the city and realize Xian at the seventh floor of the Big Wild Goose Pagoda. After visiting the Big Wild Goose Pagoda, stop at a Jade Factory -the Chinese favorite treasure. Enjoy being with professionals to discover how jade is carved and the difference between real and fake. 
This afernoon, dive into the history of the province of Shaanxi. The huge Shaanxi History Museum is a treasure of China that leaves you speechless. From prehistory to the discovery of the Terracotta Army, you will figure out the constant changes that the people of the ancient capital Chang'an had made. After then, immerse yourself in the culture by visiting the Great Mosque and Muslim Quarter. Open your senses in the Muslim Quarter of the city and discover spices and dishes typical of the Hui ethnic group. Arrive at the Great Mosque of Xian, one of the four largest ancient mosques of China. Gardens and buildings open to non-Muslims will give you an overview of the Sino-Arab cultural mix in which many places are impregnated.

The Eighth Wonder of the World

In the morning, the Stele Forest Museum  is the first destination for its impressive collection of stele calligraphy. Wander amid these steles and tombstones and learn an explanation on the history inscribed on the stone from time to time in English. Get into the third room of the museum to explore the immensity of Xian. Then, get away downtown Xian to visit the eighth wonder of the world, the Terracotta Army. This morning, your guide will take you to the station to catch a bullet train to Beijing. You arrive early in the afternoon and then go to the Beijing Capital International Airport by subway by yourself. Please pay attention to your terminal to avoid getting lost in one of the largest airports in the world. If you take off from Terminal 3, you will have the chance to use one of the most impressive new buildings in Beijing.

Notes: Depending on the departure time of your international flight, you can also take the overnight soft sleeper train to arrive in Beijing in the next early morning.
