The Jinping County is one of the most remote regions of Guizhou. Most of the visitors are interested in this region mainly due to the old Han garrison in it and the beautiful cedar forest that covers most of Jinping.

Overview of Jinping 

The Jinping county is one of the most remote regions of Qiandongnan in Guizhou. It is a little adventure to visit this place lost in the Northwestern region of Guizhou. The ethnic culture there is extremely well preserved. 
Once there, tourists find themselves surrounded by a cedar forest covering most of the area. Miao and Dong villages are hidden among these mountains and green valleys. The Dong are the main ethnic group here because they account for almost half of the population, but the Miao are not far behind. After the two groups are other small minority groups. Han also have an important place in the region since the fortified village of Longli is nearby.

Must-see in Jinping

The main reason for a trip to the county of Jinping is to visit the Longli village. To differ from the ethnic minority villages, the village of Han was a former garrison dating back to the Ming dynasty.
While in Jinping, stop at the bridge of Jinping which has a traditional architecture of the Dong (bridge of the wind and the rain) which dates from the beginning of the 2000s.

Best time to visit Jinping 

Jinping has a pleasant climate with both cool summer and winter. However, the rain is common throughout the year. So, there is no ideal season to venture into this part of Guizhou.
