The small county of Rongjiang is one of the most interesting places for visitors on a trip to the heart of Guizhou. Here, each village of the Miao, Dong, Shui, and Yao ethnic groups have their own strengths. Thus, in each village, the travelers will discover something new that each group is known for. The village of Rongjiang is also ideally located at the crossroads of the main cities of Qiandongnan.

Overview of Rongjiang

The small village of Rongjiang is located in the Qiandongnan, Guizhou. With the construction of the highway, Rongjiang is now easily accessible from Guiyang and Guilin, the capitals of the provinces of Guizhou and Guangxi. The village is also located between two cities and is often the subject of many trips centered around Southern minority groups in China. It is also a major hub of Qiandongnan where Rongjiang is connected to Guiyang while also linked to Kaili, Congjiang and Liping.
It is not only the ideal location that make visitors stop in Rongjiang. Indeed, it is a collection of small villages of Miao and Dong ethnic groups but also the Yao, Shui ethnic minorities that live nearby. Each of these villages have something that makes them different. It is an interesting experience to spend a few days visiting around Rongjiang and discovering the ancient techniques and traditions of these villages.
Lastly, this region is one of the main tributaries of the Pearl River, which then flows into the sea in Guangzhou and Hong Kong as its source.

Must-see in Rongjiang

The village of Rongjiang itself is not of great interest. You can visit the Temple of King Miao, which would be the only temple dedicated to the ancestors of the Miao ethnic group.
The most interesting remains nearby, such as Chejiang and Zaidang village. The first village is home to the tallest drum tower of the entire region, which is listed in Guinness world records.

Best time to visit Rongjiang 

All Qiandongnan region has the same climate, that is to say, that it is neither too hot in summer nor too cold in winter, but rains most of the time.
