Beijing Airport capital international airport

Beijing Airport Beijing Beijing Region
Known as Beijing-Capital, the Beijing Capital International Airport is the main international airports serving Beijing. Ranked second in the world in terms of passengers' volume, it is also one of the largest and impressive airports in the world attributed to its terminal 3.

One of the Largest Airports

As the first airport in Asia ahead of Tokyo, Beijing Capital International Airport is one of the largest in the world not only in terms of size but also in terms of passenger volume. With more than 80 million passenger flow volume in 2012, it is the second busiest airport in the world behind that of Atlanta. It is also the only airport of China which has three tracks and three terminals. For routes of these terminals, terminal 1 of the capital airport is reserved solely for the use of domestic flights of two airlines. Terminal 2 and 3 serve to both domestic and international flights.

New Construction in Beijing

Although the first buildings of the Beijing airport date back to 1950s, Terminal 3 was built until 2008. This construction project related to the Olympic Games in Beijing in 2008. It’s constructed to promote transportation and thus benefit the passengers with convenience. This huge terminal also has a fairly unique external form.
Seen from above, the design recalls the shape of a dragon in flight, mythical animal symbol of the Emperor of dynasties. Chinese architectural traditions are also incorporated in modern style. Inside the airport was arranged according to Fengshui and the roof of the terminal is golden, like the roofs of the Forbidden City. You will visit the Capital Airport when you arrive in Beijing.

Convenience in Transportation

Passengers who may depart from Beijing Capital International Airport should pay attention to the terminal to avoid wasting time once on-site. Otherwise, buses are used to connect different terminals between them and it’s available for passengers.
In addition, the airport is easily accessible from the city center of Beijing by subway, bus, or private car, 25 kilometers away. So don´t worry, when you finish your trips in Beijing, you can easily get to the capital airport and find your boarding gate between different terminals of the airport.
