Sunday Market

The Grand Bazaar of Kashgar is probably one of the busiest bazaars in Central Asia. At the crossroads, trade is flourishing for two thousand years. Even then, it was considered the largest and busiest in the region. Today, instead of being held on Sunday, it stands every day of the week. But some parts of the market, the busiest, open only on Sundays. To witness the hustle and bustle of the traditional market, it is best visited on Sunday! With the opening of roads to the west, the market offers not only local products but also includes specialties from other countries such as Saudi Arabia dried fruits, handicrafts of Pakistan or scarves of Turkey. Thus, in addition to spices, fruits and vegetables, there are the products ranging from clothing to appliances. There are really all useful with simple decor!

Cattle Market

In recent years, the cattle market was moved to a couple of kilometers outside of the city. Meanwhile, only on Sundays, It was then a rush of farmers throughout the region and neighboring countries who came to sell or buy animals. It is very fun when buyers test the quality of livestock before buying. Thus we see men gallop with a horse or other put his hand in the mouth of a sheep to check its teeth!

Ethnic Market

The whole market is mainly dominated by Uygur. But on Sunday, it's about 50,000 people entering the city of Kashgar to visit the market. In addition to the local minority, there are also people from all neighboring countries: Uzbeks, Kyrgyz, Tajiks and others. Women are mostly hidden and their colorful outfits add an extra touch of life in the market already colored.
