Tsingtao brewery and beer museum most major Chinese brewery

Tsingtao brewery and beer museum Qingdao Shandong
The Tsingtao brewery, which was created by the Germans, is today the largest and most famous of the breweries in China. The brewery includes a beer museum, which presents the history of the Tsingtao brewery and the process of production, consumption and export.

Tsingtao beer is named after Qingdao city, China. The city became a German concession in 1898 following the murder of two German missionaries which resulted in a war. The Germans settled in the city, and to meet their own needs in beer, built a brewery in 1903. The brewery passed on to the Chinese when they recaptured the city a few decades later. Besides the beer museum, the Tsingtao brewery itself is open to the public during the International Beer Festival in each August. During the rest of the year, the bottling portion of the brewery is open to the public. In the bottling portion of the brewery, you can see thousands of bottles scroll on a treadmill to be filled, labeled and boxed in cartons.
